Greece was the cherry on top of our European honeymoon, and we saved the best for last! During our time in the country we were able to visit two islands; Santorini and Mykonos and then bring our trip to a close in Athens.
Across all stops, Greece is an ultimate dream vacation spot and we loved every second of it. It felt more like we landed in the clouds than on an earthly destination.

SANTORINI
Incredible hotels, spectacular views, everything you could ask for and more. It is the most romantic island. This is where you’ll see the picturesque white structures with blue roofs built into the cliffs.

Santorini Excursions
- Catamaran Boat Tour:
- Super fun and lively boat tour that took you around different parts of the island sharing history, lots of drinks and traditional Greek food provided. You could get off at one portion and swim above an under water volcano. This tour is a must do!
- Hike from Fira – Oia
- You can take a bus or a cab down to Fira and then take your time hiking back to Oia. It is a beautiful, but long hike. Definitely worth it but bring your walking shoes and water!
- Stop at Skaros Rock
- This is an add on stop to the Fira – Oia hike. This rock jets out into the water and is very unique and beautiful. If you have some extra time add this into your hiking schedule.

MYKONOS
Incredible beaches, shopping, and nightlife. This island is known for being more of a party island. This is where you’ll find cobblestone streets and iconic windmills.

We used the ferry system to get to Mykonos from Santorini and then again when we left Mykonos for Athens. It was easy and efficient for moving around the Greek islands.
Mykonos Excursions
- Rent ATV / Four Wheeler to explore island and beaches
- In Town: Visit Windmills, shop for fedoras, eat gyros, visit night clubs
ATHENS

History galore. Here are some of the must see stops we squeezed into our short time there:
Athens Excursions
- Acropolis & Acropolis Museum
- Olympic Stadium
- National Garden
After a day of exploring here are some great rooftop bars and restaurants with views of the city:

- Attic Ubran Rootftop
- 360 Cocktail Bar
- City Zen All Day Bar Restaurant
Santorini, Mykonos & Athens Overall

From beginning to end Greece was a dream vacation. We got a mix of history, adventure, beaches and pools and unique and gorgeous views throughout.
We traveled in early June which was before the busiest season but still everything was open, and the weather was pleasant. I’d recommend this time of year, or really any summer month.
Bring your walking shoes, beach gear, sandals, sunglasses and camera. A hiking backpack and refillable water bottle were also much needed. Do leave some room in your suitcase though so that you can do some shopping on the islands.
Greece is a bucket list spot and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a romantic getaway!
